I read my fair share of erotica and I think that this genre has become all the rage for indie authors of late. Consequently, there is a real s*** storm of erotic material flooding the market and much of it is illegible at best. It's a nice thing to find an author who is both literate and able to put out (pun intended) a steady stream of quality erotic material with some amazingly engaging story lines. This is what author Alvin Slater has been doing and I have become a fan. I like my erotica to have a plot, maybe a little suspense, and some interesting characters and I can always count on Slater for these elements."The Contract" is a combination of erotica, romance, and mystery. Eve is a beautiful realtor in the mountains of Tennessee, who is unexpectedly swept off her feet by dark and handsome William. The two are entwined pretty much from the get-go and things get serious in a more than physical way very quickly. There are some super hot encounters, not just between these two, but involving their friends James and Eve as well. As far as the mystery part goes, William is a bit of a mystery as far as who he is and his background and this is resolved towards the end.
This was a really enjoyable read - very romantic as well as erotic. I loved the dialogue among the characters and the mountain setting for this one. Definitely quite a few fantasies come true for me.

This is a well-written hot story. Eve Rogers is a successful young realtor who seems to have it all. Her life changes when she meets the handsome William Lockhart. I really love the exciting relationship they have. At first there is a lot of teasing and back and forth between Eve and William. She is ready to give herself to him and discover all his secrets. I really like how the author blends suspense, romance and erotica.
I saw all the 5 stars so I downloaded (thank goodness got it for free). I could not connect with Eve & William. I did not feel one way or another if they would workout.
Another thing I disliked was the author kept repeating their whole names. Why was that necessary? This is the first time I read a book by this author so I guess that is how he writes. I have 2 more books by Slater sitting on my that I am not sure about. I may read one more just to see if it was only this story or the author's writing I can't connect with.

When an incredibly handsome, and mysterious stranger waltzed into her life, she waltzed out of her senses and found her own happy ending.
This is sweet and steamy, a combination that appeals on many levels. William and Eve are cute together, spirited and even a little fiery. It’s a fantasy story you can’t help but enjoy.
If the steamy cover of this book doesn't give you an idea of the story inside, I'm not sure what will. The Contract is a unique erotic romance based in the mountains of Tennessee. Since '50 Shades of Gray' many erotic romance novels have followed suit with very similar storylines. There is very rarely a unique book in the genre put out there, but this book definitely stepped away from the rest. It had many of the stereotypical characteristics of an erotic romance novel, with a sexual build-up and a very physical undertone, but it had a unique storyline as the backdrop- which made it a nice read in my mind.
This book follows a woman named Eve. Eve, as the cover would insinuate, is a gorgeous blond realtor who sells property in the Rocky Mountains. She essentially falls for one of her client's friends, who she finds herself venturing to the top of one of the Rocky Mountains hand in hand with him. As she trusts him with her life for many reasons- can he uphold his trustworthy demeanor all the way to the top? And can Eve make him fall in love with her as much as she's in love with him?
Essentially this book was written for it's romantic affect. It's not overdone, but it's certainly dramatized- which is to be expected with this kind of story. If you love soap operas, you're going to love this book. It just has that very 'twists and turns and dramatic' tone to it that a lot of people really enjoy. As a girl who grew up watching my mom watch soap operas, I've come to find them endearing. So delving into this book kind of took me to a place of soap opera reading that I really enjoyed.
If you're looking for something a bit different, a bit dramatized, a bit fun, and a lot romantic- The Contract is the right book for you. It's not meant to be taken super seriously, but if you go into it with the right mindset you're going to enjoy the story. It's romanticisized, a bit risque, and full of erotic suspense that will keep you drifting through the pages with utter intrigue. I had a lot of fun reading it, and I'm glad I picked it up. Definitely an offbeat erotic romance, but one that I think anyone who appreciates the genre will enjoy.
